What are the symptoms of Vaginitis?
There are a number of causes of Vaginitis. Most commonly bacteria, yeast, or a virus causes vaginitis. In some cases chemical irritants in creams, soaps or sprays can set off the infection. Some women get vaginitis after wearing tight clothing, others get it from their partners during intercourse. Although the specific symptoms might vary depending on what causes vaginitis, the general symptoms remain the same. Sometimes the same patient can have more than one cause of vaginitis. This makes its diagnosis and treatment difficult. The most common symptoms of vaginitis are:
1. Vaginal discharge which may be smelly
2. Irritation and itching of the vagina
3. Frequent urination
4. Burning during urination
5. Pain during intercourse
6. General discomfort in the pelvic and abdominal area
